Comprehensive Relaunch as an Agile Project: Sophora at the Hessischer Rundfunk

Since August 2017, Hessischer Rundfunk (hr) has been running seven additional online channels on Sophora.

Since their relaunch, the hr.de homepage, the hr-iNFO and hr-fernsehen offerings and the hr1.de, hr2.de, hr3.de and hr4.de radio websites are online via the support of subshell’s CMS.

The multimedia offering is responsive, appears in a fresh, new design and offers a high level of user-friendliness. During the week, approximately 2.3 million HR regular listeners enjoy radio via the relaunch. Once again, Sophora ensures the highest level of accessibility on all mobile devices.

Hessischer Rundfunk also relies on subshell CMS for its classic range, the popular youth platform youfm, its in-house intranet and the ARD stock exchange.

Simple Implementation Thanks to Many Sophora Interfaces

Thanks to Sophora's numerous interfaces, Hessischer Rundfunk was able to carry out the relaunch internally. During the implementation of the agile based project, the hr technology team was able to rely on subshell's support at every step.

The EPG add-on (Electronic Program Guide) enables Sophora to directly publish multimedia content. The additional function ensures the simultaneous publication of program data, videos and audio. This allows editorial offices to easily deliver program data and multimedia content to various channels and to simply create program lists for television and radio. Transferring program data is also child's play with the EPG add-on.
