Read Only Mode

What Is the Read Only Mode?

The read only mode enables you to view a document without locking it.

Opening A Document In Read Only Mode From The Search Page

To open a document in read only mode from the search results:

  1. Search a document.
  2. In the appropriate search result, click the menu (vertical dots).
  3. In the menu, select the glasses symbol or Open for reading.

Switching Between Read Only and Edit Modes

To switching between read only and edit modes:

  1. Open a document.
  2. In the top right corner of the document's action bar is a button which lets you switch between the edit mode (pen symbol) and the read only mode (glasses symbol). If the document is locked by another user you see the user's initials next to the glasses symbol.

Note: The switch button is not avtive if you do not have the permission to edit the document or if the document is locked and you are not permitted to break locks.

Opening A Locked Document In Read Only Mode

To open a document in read only mode that is locked by another user:

  • In the dialog, that appeared when you tried to open the document, click Open read only.
