Document States

Learn more about possible document states and their corresponding icons.

A document may exist in various different states. Each of these document states has its own icon. With the help of this list, you can obtain an overview of them.

The four document-state-icons provide information whether a document is on- or off-line.

Live-State Icons
Content Description
Document is not and was never published.
Document is online.
Document was published before, but is now offline.
Document is deleted.

The live-state icons probably will be combined with one out of four overlays, which display the document's state in the internal editing process.

Editing Process Icons
Content Description
Document is in process.
Document is prepublished.
Publishing of the document is scheduled (publishat).
Document is released/ready.

Below, you can see the combined icons. The different editing process icons all will be displayed in the bottom right corner of the composed icon.

Composed Icons
Content Description
Document was never online and is in process. (New)
Document was never online, but is now finished and ready for approval and publication.
Document was never online, but is now prepublished.
Document was never online, but will be published time-controlled.
Document is online and under revision.
Document is still online, was edited afterwards and is now ready for approval.
Document is online, subsequently was edited and is now prepublished.
Document is still online, was edited and is scheduled for publishing.
Document is in process and currently offline, but was published before.
Document is currently offline, but was edited and is now ready for publication.
Document is currently offline, but was edited and is prepublished.
Document is currently offline, but was edited and is scheduled for publishing.

Icon
